This "week"'s post is about Usutu, affectionately remembered as "Mr. African Isaac." He gained this nickname by being somewhat like Isaac Mendez, the famed painter of the first season. In fact, we're going to compile a list.
- They both shared the ability of precognition, to see the future.
- They both painted said future.
- They were both minorities.
- They both had a special relationship with a substance (Isaac his heroine, Usutu his paste)
-They both met untimely ends due to the main antagonist of their respective seasons. (Also, both their deaths involved head injuries.)
-Hiro was friends with both and saw both corpses after the fact.
-They both provided the role of guider for our heroes.
At this point, you might think he's a pure ripoff, but he certainly was not. In fact, in our opinion, he was one of the better characters of Season 3. While not as awesome as he would have been if they gave him broken speech like Yoda (yes, they were fucking gonna), he had some great lines.
"I gotta use your cell."
"No service! I should've gone with Sprint."
-Matt, Usutu (The Second Coming)
Look at Usutu's almost offensive product placement. For a man who lives in the desert, he sure is in tune with America's brand-name obssesive culture.
"You come from America."
"Yes, how did you—?"
"Do you know Britney Spears?"
"...no."
"She is from America."
"Yeah. America's a big place."
"Yes. Africa is too."
- Usutu, Matt (The Butterfly Effect)
Here, once again, Usutu shows his interest in American culture. He is obsessed with Britney Spears, although probably never owning an album of her work. I wonder if he saw her shaving her hair in a vision?
Usutu's golden moment was his first encounter with Hiro. He shows the practical application of painting the future when he manages to defeat a TIME TRAVELER in a battle of wits. That's right, Mr. Do-Over Hiro Nakamura was bested by a painter with a shovel in his hands. And Usutu made Hiro know he was bested seconds before he was knocked unconscious. Each time, Hiro would see a painting of Usutu striking Hiro seconds before he did.

This raises an interesting point. Usutu's powers are advanced enough to see the future after a time traveler tampered with it. Does this mean precogs can see all possible futures? He and Isaac both painted futures that would end up not happening, but they also painted the future that would, even though they conflicted with previous visions. (Case in point: Any prediction from Season One or Two with his final comic, shown in Season Three.) Usutu also demonstrated this by having paintings he saw would not happen anymore. So, what controls which future they see? Is it the same force that prevented Hiro from using his powers occasionally in Season One? Is it the same force that brought about the Eclipse in Season Three? Is there a God on Heroes? Well, we may never know (Tim Kring majored in religon, so I'm going to bet he thinks so, but it'll probably never be brought up on the show), but this all paints an interesting picture of the precog's powers.
Anyway, we enjoyed Usutu from his first appearance to his gruesome end by the hands of Arthur Petrelli. However, he has continued to appear after his death to Matt Parkman, which gives us hope some of our remaining questions will be answered: How did he enable Matt and Hiro to see the future and past? The paste, the music? How is he still appearing?
Hopefully we'll find out soon with some new footage of Usutu in Volume Four.

Rest in peace, Mr. African Isaac.
As a new installment in our newest attempt to revitalize this website, we are unveiling the Super Topic of the Week! We'll go to our best buds at Heroes Wiki and hit random page, which will present us with a character, location, power, episode, or anything from the show, and we will talk at you all about it until our fingers fall off. Let's start it off with a real hot topic, huh? Here we go! Our very first Super Topic of the Week will be...
Molly Walker...from the exposed future... >_<
Sigh.

Alright, let's get started. The exposed future, of which this Molly derives from, is the future we saw earlier in Season 3. You know, cuddly Sylar, badass Claire, President Nathan, and the formula being up for grabs by all of society. Obviously, in this span of time, Molly must have undergone some drastic changes, right?
Nope. She's the same whiny little girl Matt's stuck caring for as she was in both Season One and Two. Only this time, her hair is slightly darker and she has an Ipod. She seems to have completely forgotten her other foster parent, Mohinder, just like her original parents. She had a reason for this complete forgetting of Mohinder, however. He DID send her away to live with his grandparents in India so he could bang Maya without her catching him and injecting himself with all kinds of strange "formulas". Needless to say, all that combined with living in a country where no one can speak English seems to have assisted her overcoming her former "Mama Mohinder". He's only in her nightmares now, with her adopted grandfather (Maury Parkman), Sylar, and the frozen and decimated remains of her real parents.
This poor, fucked up little girl. Last we see her, she's holding her stepsister in the background as her newest mommy, Daphne, DIES.

Molly will of course struggle with the fact that the use of her power is responsible for her stepmommy's untimely demise (along with the entire city of Costa Verde).
Wait, How many parents has she lost in like three years? 3. 3 parents (almost 4 when Matt got an assload of bullets at Kirby Plaza). All of which she watched die. Most of these were due to Sylar, along with his hunting and almost killing her like eighteen times. However, Sylar isn't the only one who wanted this adorable little girl dead. After being diagnosed with the Shanti virus and almost dying, HRG put a pistol to her face when she was recovering, only to later recover and be placed into a nightmare-based supercoma by Matt's dad.
However, Molly's life isn't all mentally destructive events, one after another. We see a lighter side of Molly in her fantastic artworks, which of course are all inspired by the nightly terrors that an old man from Philadelphia injects into her mind while she sleeps.

We expect great things from this fucking lunatic-to be in her timeline's future. There is absolutely no way ANYONE could go through this much turmoil as a child and NOT be fucked up in some serious way. Maybe it's for the best that she's currently been written out.
Or is it? Molly's actress has recently said in an interview that the character of Molly shall return again.
We only pray she doesn't witness everyone she loves dying all at the same time, or something to that effect. Poor little girl has gone through enough, I'd say.
And that is our first Super Topic of the Week. Thank you, Interwebs, and good night.

Sometimes, we do this stuff when we're bored. Enjoy!

This is the second episode of our comic series called Unexpected Heroes.
Last episode Jackie Wilcox, a cheerleader from Union Wells High School in Odessa Texas, found out she had the strange ability to be a "complete bitch." Much time has passed since then and Jackie's life has been noting less than eventful. She took credit for her friend Claire's heroic act of saving a man from a train wreck, and as a result was hunted down and murdered by the ruthless killer Sylar who mistook her for the indestructible Claire Bennet. Our story picks up here 6 months later...

John and Anthony have begun to create a series of comics that tell the stories of Heroes' forgettable but interesting characters. Episode One takes place at some point in between Episodes 2-9 of Season One. It is meant to occur before Jackie is murdered at Homecoming.

Leave a comment! Episode Two is already in production.

Hey, it's us again. We're going to post up Anthony's drawing of Claire this morning before we post Episode One of our self-written, self-drawn supplementary comic bonanza.
Anyway, here you are!

Anyway, here you are!

This just in, Heroes fans. It appears that the all mighty writers have given us a peek into a world where writers are treated fairly and given no reason to strike. Apparently, Heroes would have been something like this:
Well! That's certainly a step in another direction. We're going to break down our opinions down here.
John: Well, I've got mixed opinions about it. I'd like to put out that at first, it's better written then the ending we got in this dimension. Which of course is understandable, because they had to come up with a new ending under an extremely tight time frame. I'll let you know how I feel about both endings.
Current timeline (what we have): We may have gotten the standard climactic battle with the good guys coming out on top, but Nathan's speech certainly left us with a bitter taste in our mouths, just the kind of ending we needed. With the virus situation averted, everyone's lives are to return to normal. Or are they?
The second season left the cast of Heroes scarred. Unlike Season One, where it seemed at the end of it all, everything was going to be ok, Season Two was certainly darker. Nathan and Niki were left in situations where continuing to live is up in the air. Maya (just so you know, I fumed with rage that she was revived) lost her only family, and Noah Bennet was shot, killed, revived, and now is a slave of the Company he despises. Among other things, shit kind of sucked for the Heroes crew. This ending is leading us into the new season. With the name Villains being emphasized strongly, I predict a bloody, dark season. One that I personally am very excited for.
The Alternate Ending: Well, with the virus being released, the world would have learned of the Company and of heroes. Just like the dark future where meta humans were hunted (i.e. Five Years Gone), the world will be a new place. Odessa would be a sacred ground, like New York was once destined to be. Peter, Nathan, Matt, and the countless Company members and prisoners would be lost. The world would change around them.
Even though the viral victims are obvious, the biggest non-lethal victim of the ordeal is Hiro Nakamura. Responsible for releasing Adam Monroe upon the world, too slow to stop him, he would find his heroism turned the world into an apocalyptic world. He would lose everything he believed in, and we, as viewers, would lose the brightest beacon of hope on the show. Now, while I love dark works just as much as anybody, the presence of hope balances things out and makes them more human. A world without "Yatta!"s is not a world with hope.
Anthony: I’d like to say I pretty much agree with John 100%. The actual ending that was aired did feel kind of rushed, but all and all, I’m happy the writers changed the way things turned out. For me if the virus was released all I could imagine happening is another dark future, somewhat like the one we have seen in the first season with New York. One of the main things I love about Heroes is that it is so realistic in ways. Seeing these people obtain extraordinary abilities and try to balance that with every day life is what makes the show so great. By releasing a deadly virus onto the world, the writers would also be dismantling the normal everyday world that our heroes live in, which would, in turn, make the show no longer relatable.
So basically I’m happy with they way things turned out, the virus being destroyed, Nathan getting shot, the whole nine yards…
The only good thing about the virus being unleashed on to Texas and the rest of the world would be that we would finally see a proper ending to Claire and Zach’s friendship because his ass would be dead.
Alright, well, that's our take on this revelation. Leave yours on the page by commenting below. Argue, agree, elaborate, we're game for any feedback.
Hey fellow heroes fans!
This is our second post on our new LiveJournal.
In this entry we’re going to give you all a look at a drawing Anthony did of our favorite ex-nurse Peter Petrelli!
We hope you all like it; expect to see many more posts in the near future!

This is John and Anthony's first post on our new livejournal, Heroes Freaks. Here we will be posting any of the Heroes stuff we do on here.
Normally, it'll fall under these categories:
Unexpected Heroes- The comic series we make about Heroes' less than beloved characters. Anthony draws, John writes.
Assorted Fan Art-Because we can't help ourselves. Anthony's the better artist, so look for his art more often, but John continues to believe people likes what he makes.
Theory/Episode Discussion-We do this all the freaking time, so why not write it down for you to read and comment about? Everybody loves a rousing debate in front of a warm fire.
Other stuff- Because sometimes we do other things. Maybe you'll be interested, maybe you won't.
As a gift of good will, I present to you all a free background, courtesy of the life John could be living. Enjoy! Anyway, be sure to check often! Thanks for reading. :)
